Born in Charleroi, Belgium, in 1936. Bernardet is professor emeritus at the University of São Paulo, cinema theorist, critic, filmmaker, screenwriter, writer, playwright, and actor. As an actor, he participated in films such as "Orgia" (1969), by João Silvério Trevisan, "Sweet Thieves" (1977), presented at the 44th Mostra, by Fernando Coni Campos, and "Before the End" (2017), presented at the 41st Mostra, by Cristiano Burlan. He signs the script for films such as "Case of the Naves Brothers" (1967), presented at the 37th Mostra, by Luís Sérgio Person. Bernardet directed "Eterna Esperança" (1972), "São Paulo, Sinfonia e Cacofonia" (1994), and "Sobre Anos 60" (1999).
