It was in this edition that, invited by MOSTRA, Cedomir Kolar, Marion Hänsel and Marco Muller met as members of the Jury. This meeting resulted in “NO MAN’S LAND”, a film by Danis Tanovic, which, in addition to receiving the Public Choice Award at the 25th MOSTRA, won the Oscar for best foreign language film in 2002. The 23rd MOSTRA has also provided one of the most unforgettable opening nights of the event. With the support of Goethe Institute, the recently restored copy of the classic FAUST – Eine Deutsche Volkssage”, by Murnau, was screened at the SALA SÃO PAULO, in Estação Julio Prestes, as a tribute to Goethe’s 150th anniversary. The exhibition has also marked the world premiere of Bernd Schultheis’ composition for this masterpiece. Once again, Jose Zaragoza creates the artwork of Mostra’s poster.
