In 1989, Switzerland was shocked by a scandal: over 900.000 people were monitored for their political convictions. The zealous policeman Viktor Schuler is sent to the Zurich Schauspielhaus to observe the left-wing theatre scene. But soon he falls in love with the actress Odile, whom he is supposed to monitor. There is no going back: he must choose between his mission and his heart.

Born in Kassel, Germany, in 1972, he grew up in Zurich, Switzerland. Studied film and psychology and worked as a journalist, editor, cultural organizer and musician. Before his debut as a director, he wrote several screenplays. Directed the short film Herr Goldstein (2005), winner of the Golden Leopard award at the Locarno Film Festival. Mostra presented his features The Friend (2008) and A Decent Man (2015).
