Born in Mozambique, in 1969, Pinto moved to Portugal when he was 5 years old. In the last few years, he has been living between Lisbon and São Paulo. He directed the short films Don’t Swim (2015) and Skype Me (2008). His first feature, America (2010), was screened at the 34th Mostra. Mosquito is his second long-length film.
