Veneza Americana (1925)
Sobre o filme
The works and infrastructure of the city of Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco, at the second anniversary of state governor Sergio Lorêto’s administration. The port of Recife, open until April 1922 under the responsibility of the Pernambuco Societé de Construction du Port, became directly dependent on the state. Highlights include the warehouses, some of them still in construction; the pier, built to take in ships such as Lloyd Brasileiro’s Ayuruoca and Lloyd Hollandez’s transatlantic cruiser Gelria; and the work at the Comportas quarries, where the rocks used for the building of the port were extracted from.
