A Huey P. Newton Story (2001)
Sobre o filme
Spike Lee creates a virtuosistic and intimate portrait of the late cofounder of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense. Based on the off-Broadway homonymous award-winning play, A Huey P. Newton Story employs a mixture of film and archival footages in color and black and white to capture Newton’ "inner mind". The protagonist’ long monologue alternates basic information and harsh attacks to the white social order. Huey P. Newton was murdered in Oakland in 1989, at the age of 47.
