The Wound (2001)
Sobre o filme
Julia, age 21, leads a restricted existence in that her mother is physically handicapped. She also does not know her father who left them early on in her life. Julia’s feeling of rebellion grows day after day. She is admitted into a school for acting but can not study because of her responsibilities. Frustrated, she harbors feelings of revenge against her absent father and begins to carry out investigations with intent to find how she can deal him a hard, permanent blow. However, Hendrik, a charming sailor comes into her life. She returns his love but can not rid herself of her plans for vengeance. One fact that both are unaware of comes to the surface: they are children of one and the same father. The more Julia believes herself in control of the situation, the more she loses control. “This is a film about being hurt, on how people deal with disappointment and what they do to continue in spite of the pain and the depth of the wounds”, says director Thomas Stiller.
