The history and characteristics of the music of one of the greatest legends in the blues – guitarrist B.B.King. Richard Pearce pays tribute, also, to the birthplace of the bluesman, Memphis, cradle of one of the most important styles of the kind. In addition to B.B.King, the film includes original performances by Bobby Rush, Little Milton, Rosco Gordon, Ike Turner, and scenes on file of Howlin’ Wolf, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Rufus Thomas, and The Coasters.
