This is a romantic comedy that analyzes the phases of separation
where love is concerned: negation, negotiation, revolt, and acceptance. Cabral has been married to Glorinha for 12 years. Dissatisfied with their relationship, they decide to separate. When she falls in love with Diogo, an architect from her city, Cabral discovers his mistake in asking her to spend some time apart. Blind with jealousy, he endeavors to win Glorinha back. The film was first made on video, then transposed to cinema. A film version of the play “Separações”, written and played by Domingos de Oliveira, winner of the Shell Award for the best actor and director, for Oliveira himself. He also directs and acts in the film.
