Seo Chico - A Portrait (2004)
Sobre o filme
Long before he died, Seo Chico was already a unique character, well known far beyond the boundaries of the city of Florianópolis. His sugar and flour mill was visited not only by friends and neighboring customers, but by countless visitors - coming at times from very far away - and who chose the quiet Sertão dos Indaiás to relearn a simple mode of life, adapting to the calm natural pace of times long since gone, chatting with Seo Chico. The mill-owner is the living image of the all but extinct history of the flour mills, the sugar cane mills, and the small distillers on the Island of Santa Catarina, today Florianópolis, on the southern coast of Brazil. The documentary is witness to his encounters with the filming team, in an endeavor to convey the emotional intensity of this experience to a maximum - tragically cut short by Seo Chico?s death.
