Monday. A new week begins and Vincent is in despair at the prospects of once more falling into the same monotonous routine. It is no small matter to put up with one hour and a half in the traffic to get to a factory job he finds tedious. Back home, boredom is no less. Household chores always come before his passion for painting. Vincent is not about to put up with yet another Monday morning. He is weary of factory life, of his wife, of the children, and of all the concessions and contradictions he is obliged to put up with. He also can not stand to see life repeat itself in the village where he lives: the postman reading through all the correspondence, the farmer installing a new alarm system, the local priest keeping an eye on the whereabouts of the women. One day Vincent decides to leave town and head for Venice. Who knows, the big city will not offer him all he has lacked up to then?
