A Godard film is always a challenge to the imagination. Although it flees from any conventional form of creation, this controversial work of his is almost a return to so-called commercial cinema. Godard shows the trajectory of three characters: Denise Rimbaud, a woman who abandons her post at a TV station to live on a farm, taking care of animals. There is also the trajectory of Paul Godard, who maintains a relationship with Denise but is afraid to trade the city for the countryside. The last story is that of Isabelle, a young woman from the countryside who is going to try life in the city. She ends up renting the apartment where Denise lived, causing their paths to cross.
