From Hamilton, in Canada, to São Paulo, in Brazil, and Jakarta, in Indonesia, this is a safari through punk rock from the First to the Third Worlds, from the profane to the sacred. The trip begins with a Canadian cult band, The Forgotten Rebels that, as from 1977, have produced contagious, offensive music. The film shows its influence and inspiration on the shanty towns in Brazil and on the turbulence of Indonesia, where punk has become a voice for the new generations in search of a better world. Henrike, the slim vocalist of the São Paulo street punk band, Blind Pigs, with words that are impetuous and intelligent, represents the Latin-American experience. He teaches English to the children in the favela shanty town and gives credit to The Forgotten Rebels and to his father, a great fan of the band, for his gift for punk. In Jakarta, Dolly, a quiet, articulate boy of 22, heard of the Blind Pigs over the internet and asked for a CD free, not having any money to spend on one. In his job in a factory, he earns less than three dollars a day. Punk, to him, is the only form of fighting the corrupt world in which he lives. He says that to get home and listen to the Blind Pigs is "a remedy for my ills". Interviews, scenes from shows, including backstage, reveal a world in which globalization and poverty, religion and identity, terrorism and utopia converge in a way that is, at times, dissonant and, at times, harmonious.
