The victims of AIDS and their communities in five different countries: India, Thailand, Brazil, Uganda, and Russia. In Brazil, the character is Alex, gay, age 27, who manages to reconstruct his life with the benefit of free therapy, as supplied by the Brazilian government. The documentary shows how Brazil developed an effective campaign for prevention, with aggressive and creative educational messages. The same can not be said in terms of good fortune for James, age 7, in Uganda who has to care for his younger sister after both mother and father died, having fallen prey to the disease. Sergei and Lena are a young Russian couple that contracted the virus using drugs. Lek, a sex professional is abandoned in Thailand. Also, how truck driver Nagaraj and his wife, both seropositive, succeed in changing the awareness of all of a village in India. Narrated by Elton John, with sound track by Philip Glass.
