The Cave (2001)
Sobre o filme
Young Egon, age 14, and Axel, 15, met during an excursion to a cave in the countryside in Belgium. Alex is amoral and fascinates, but at the same time, repels Egon. Both are brought together, grateful for having met anyone of a nature as diverse. The influence Alex exerts over Egon grows in the university. Alex is forever bent on taking risks and facing challenges. In a way, Egon is precisely the opposite. Middle-aged, now as a geologist, in the newspapers, he is to follow Alex’s rapid descent into the world of international crime. Everywhere he may choose to look, there is Alex: in the news, on the doormat of his house, and even in his wife’s past. His marriage is going downhill, and he feels the need for a change in life. When Egon manages to raise the money to fulfill a long-awaited dream - a geological expedition - he goes in search of Alex. His friend, now a criminal and wanted, sends him to Asia carrying a suitcase of mysterious content. Far from home, risking his life, Egon is to discover that the secret of the cave is about to be revealed.
