Birth of a Golem (1991)
Sobre o filme
A series of theatrical sketches that conjure up the creation of the Golem, the mythical creature of the Jewish Cabbala, which might have been originally made of clay but came alive from the breath of a mighty rabbi. This is the first episode of a trilogy on the mythical character of Jewish legends and Gitai shoots it as if he were writing notes on a scrapbook following the research that he and the script writer Tonino Guerra did on the subject. Slowly but surely, the story takes its own course through the film’s awe-striking images.
