The Karnak’s Multicolored Book (2006)
Sobre o filme
A documentary on the history of the Karnak band and their secret tour in China. The group was formed in 1992 by multi-instrumentist André Abujamra, formerly of the Mulheres Negras twosome, author of the Mostra vignette and frequent composer for soundtrack for Brazilian films such as, in this, the 30th Mostra, The 12 Labours. The idea for the band first arose during a visit to Egypt, at which time, Abujamra visited a temple - Karnak. The place made such an impression on him that he chose this name for the group that was not even in existence. He returned to Brazil, gathered twelve musicians and formed Karnak. They rehearsed for one year before appearing for the first time. Performances are good humored, and Karnak produces the sound of pop in a mix with different types of influence.
