Lighting Over Water (1980)
Sobre o filme
When director Wim Wenders arrives in New York City on April 1979, moviemaker Nicholas Ray is very sick, having had three cancer operations which would eventually kill him the next month. Ray reassures the once expressed desire to film together with Wenders, who almost lets the project go, afraid of exploring the friend’s suffering. He then realizes that Ray isn’t in anxiety just for starting it, but also obsessed about his needs of recording a wide analysis about his life. The result is this tribute to Nicholas Ray, where both directors speak of cinema, death, future and films.
