Lost Embrace (2004)
Sobre o filme
Ariel (Daniel Hendler, Silver Bear winner for Best Actor at the 2004 Berlin Festival) is a typical young man in crisis. He’s a twenty something and not yet independent. He has dropped college and whiles his time away between his mother’s lingerie shop, in a gallery in Buenos Aires Jewish district, and a nearby cybercafé, where he usually meets his girlfriend. One thing that bothers him a lot is the fact that his overprotective mother and his brother hardly ever talk about his father, who left home in the 70’s to fight the Yom Kippur war in Israel never to return again. Opposite his mother’s store, old Oswaldo has gone bankrupt trying to sell stationery paper, Korean traders earn their living from feng shui and all his friends, offspring of this old generation of immigrants, are trying to obtain the European citizenship as a way out of unemployment. Ariel wants more than just a foreign passport. He longs to meet his father and know the truth.
