Jed and Chloe are two young mentally disabled persons in love. One day, Jed kills by accident another Chloe’s passion, her cat. Broken-hearted, she submerges in an impenetrable silence and loses her will to live. Convinced that there must be something else that can bring meaning to Chloe’s life and lift up her spirit, Jed does everything he can to discover what that might be. He is led to believe that a mysterious scrapman, Max, has the answer to his problem and slowly but surely he is drawn into the eccentric world of this loner. However, Max tells Jed nothing and remains silent. When Chloe goes into a comma, he begs Max to show him a solution, but Max just mutters: “the tragedy that astounds you is leading you to self-destruction”. And in a moment of rare catharsis, Jed discovers that the answer lies within him. Now he must hurry and tell Chloe before it’s too late…
