Sobre o filme
The film is about the Uighurs, China`s largest Muslim minority (8 million people). To prevent Uighur separatism, China enforces a policy of cultural and political assimilation in Xinjiang. Human Rights Watch reports that 10,000 Uighurs are political prisoners, and hundreds have been executed. China claims they are terrorists.The film follows one and a half years in the lives of four Uighur orphanage in Xinjiang province, China. The children are learning the Uighur ancient art of tightrope walking, which becomes a metaphor for the struggles of all Uighurs, who try to balance their Muslim identity against the oppression of the Chinese State.
