The Sons of Havana (2004)
Sobre o filme
The main character in the film is Barbaro, a taxi driver whose dream it is to abandon the profession and take up a career as a musician. He meets Pio Leyva, the famous singer of the Buena Vista Social Club at a race and tries to convince him to make up a band together with him, with the best young musicians in Cuba. Leyva does not seem much interested until he meets Osdalgia with a beautiful voice, whereupon he devotes himself heart and soul to the project. Barbaro and he follow along with the work of the young musicians who produce excellent arrangements for countless Cuban classics in addition to new songs. Barbaro has recorded the music and plays the songs to each new passenger believing he will keep Musica Cubana band alive and possibly make it a new Buena Vista Social Club.
