27 Scenes About Jorgen Leth (2009)
Sobre o filme
A portrait of Danish filmmaker Jorgen Leth, one of the most important contemporary European documentarists. With a career spanning over 40 years, he’s directed more than 45 documentaries, as well as experimental and fiction short-films, conceptual shorts, anthropology essays, sports documentaries and video diaries. In 2008, his work was celebrated at the 13th It’s All True Festival, organizing screenings and master classes in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Film critic and festival director Amir Labaki filmed Leth’s visit and prepared a profile of the director and his work. In the documentary, the filmmaker’s ideas reveal much about his films and vice-versa. Leth talks about his education, his work as a director, a poet, and a journalist, his decision to swap Denmark for Haiti, and his collaboration with Lars Von Trier on The Five Obstructions (2003).
