Mother of Mine (2005)
Sobre o filme
The year is 1943 and Finland, a country devastated by war. Eero, a boy of nine, has lost his father, a soldier killed in combat. The mother, Kirsti, has no conditions to keep him and sends him to Sweden, at the time, considered a neutral, safe country. During World War II, over 70 thousand Finnish children were sent to Sweden. All alone, not understanding a single word of the local language, the boy is taken in by a new family. At first, his relationship with his adoptive mother is hostile and problematical but, by force of the circumstances, they draw closer. With the war over, Kirsti wishes to recover her son. Eero has, then, to make a difficult choice: to stay with his adoptive mother or return to the mother he left behind?
