Melissa P. – the Diary of Melissa P. (2005)

Sobre o filme

Melissa is a beautiful, shy teenager of 16. Her father is forever away, travelling and her mother, even if she is at home, is mostly absent. The person most present in Melissa?s life is her grandmother, Elvira. At school, Melissa has, now, for over a year, nurtured a passion that is altogether platonic for Daniele, a boy who has never paid her the slightest attention. At a party, however, Melissa has her first sexual experience with Daniele. Although she is with the boy she believes she is in love with, the experience proves brutal and humiliating. As from then, Melissa experiments with sex with the cumplicity of her best friend and her grandmother?s advice. She meets up with men of different ages, is involved in orgies, and records all of her observations in a diary - her confidante. One day her mother finds the diary, and discovers, much to her astonishment, that Melissa lost her innocence a long time before. The film is based on young Melissa P.?s real memories, that became a best-seller in Italy. Actress and co-producer Francesca Neri, who plays the role of her mother, was a sex symbol in features such as Las Edades de Lulú (1900), by Bigas Luna, and Carne Trémula (1997), by Pedro Almodóvar, selection for the 22nd Mostra.
