The Demons of Eden (2007)
Sobre o filme
Journalist Lydia Cacho lent a voice to boys and girls, the victims of sexual abuse, when she published her book Los Demonios Del Éden, and herself became the victim of organized crime.
Over the course of eighteen months, Alejandra Islas recorded different stages in Lydia Cacho`s struggle to find justice with courts and magistrates. The journalist`s case was one of the most important subjects in Mexico in 2006 and, on making conversation between entrepreneurs and politicians in the country public, showed a scene from a world of extreme corruption existing in the Mexican political system, rendering society familiar with a crime apparently immeasurable - namely, pederasty. The documentary includes statements by notable journalists such as Carmen Aristégui, Blanche Petrich, and Jorge Zepeda, by geopolitics analyst and specialist Dr Alfredo Jolife Rahme, by human rights advocates Martín Barrios and Rodrigo Hernández, and from the voices and presence of The Demons of Eden.
