La Perdición de Los Hombres (2000)
Sobre o filme
To paraphrase a popular Mexican song that says: "Women are the downfall of man", Mexican master Arturo Ripstein created this brilliant comedy of black humor. The main character of the story is not led to death by women alone, but also by baseball - his other passion. The plot revolves around the dead man on scene, murdered by mistake. Even after his death, the man finds no peace, for his body is claimed, pathetically, by both his wives and by his assassins. A socio-anthropological treatise on the Mexican people, through the way in which he broaches themes such as humor, their attitude towards food, and co-existence with death. Awarded the Concha de Ouro Prize at the San Sebastian/2000 Festival, in Spain.
