Kurt Weill (2001)
Sobre o filme
Documentary on composer Kurt Weill, born one hundred years ago, in Dessau (formerly East Germany). The film is of an interview with German researcher Dr J√ºrgen Schebera and persons who were in contact with Weill, in addition to visiting the places where he was, in Dessau, Berlin, Paris, and New York. Among other personalities, the film includes an interview with his closest friend in Paris, Gertrude Jeanette. Kurt Weill takes us to the concert halls where his pieces were played and records performances by Blixa Bargeld, Udo Lindenberg, and Jocelyn B. Smith, among others. Also discussed are Weill’ Jewish roots, one feature that is in general neglected in his biographies.
