Karger (2007)
Sobre o filme
Karger, a typical Forever in Blue Jeans kind of guy in his mid-thirties, is a steel worker in one of the last (male) bastions of a former combine. He has hardly ever left his home, a seat of industry which has become a dapper small town between Leipzig and Dresden in Germany. Karger’ life begins to falter when against all expectations, he and his wife, Sabine, get together on the day of their divorce. Yet while Karger nourishes the slender hope for a new beginning, Sabine simply considers it to be an adventurous moment. With the obstinate naivety of a teenager, Karger tries to revive his illusion of family through the joint-custody of their daughter Clara, but rarely reaches his goal. When he becomes a victim of downsizing, he finds himself once again in an emotional vacuum. He quickly rushes into a relationship with Ulrike, a woman he knows from his occasional trips to the local pub. Ulrike and Karger becomes a couple, and overnight, Karger takes his place at the table of a new family. However, what at first sight seems to be an obvious and perfect solution to mend his shattered life in fact is not.
