Harlan County, USA (1976)

Sobre o filme

In the 1930s, in Harlan County (State of Kentucky), the militants of the United Mine Workers of America face police repression. Forty years later, things had changed very little. In 1973, when the miners of Brookside, a small town in the region, decide to join the union and fight for their rights, confrontations, strikes, pickets, arrests of strikers, and police interference are inevitable. This documentary, awarded an Oscar, follows the union movement and shows the violence resulting from the conflicts.
