Paraguayan Hammock (2006)
Sobre o filme
In 1935, in a remote region in Paraguay, an elderly couple, Cândida and Ramón, await their son who has left home to fight the Chaco War. It is extremely hot and they long for rain that was forecast but that never gets there, for wind that never blows. Ramón cuts sugar cane: Cândida looks after the house, and the dog barks ceaselessly. And they wait for better days. Rámon is optimistic, Cândida believes her son dead. And the scene is repeated monotonously, day after day. This is the first production completed in Paraguay since 1978 (the year of Cerro Cora, by Guillermo Vera).
