Revolt of the City (1973)
Sobre o filme
One of the main films from Italian political cinema in the seventies. It portrays one of the most controversial episodes in history: the trial and execution of Italian astronomer, mathematician and philosopher Giordano Bruno (1548-1600). A daring, independent thinker, he was burned at the stake by the Inquisition on February 17, 1600, in Fores square, in Rome. With the proceedings at a climax, one of the inquisitors asks Giordano: "And as to Catholic truth?" and Giordano responds ironically with another question: "Are there two truths: one Catholic and the other philosophical?" Master Vittorio Storaro`s photography reproduces the light coming from the torches.
