Drum (2004)
Sobre o filme
The dramatized life of Henry Nxumalo, an investigative journalist famous in Sophiatown, a district symbolic of the Johannesburg cultural resistance in the 1950s. He works for the popular black magazine Drum, a real media weapon at the time. During this period, an entire generation of incisive South African authors, critics, musicians and journalists emerged and spoke out in the resistance. Henry Nxumalo risked his life to report on the living and working conditions of black people in these apartheid years, despite constant harassment from the authorities. The film was considered the Best South African Feature at the 2005 Durban International Film Festival.
