The Scrounger (1961)
  
 Sobre o filme
 Vittorio, better known as Accatone, is a teenager who lives as a delinquent in the suburbs of Rome. He survives at the expense of prostitute Maddalena; however, when she is arrested, he can not find the wherewithall even to cope with hunger. One day, he returns to the site where Maddalena used to stop regularly, and there he meets Stella. He falls in love with her, meanwhile engaging in petty theft. He also insists that she become a prostitute. In love as he is, he takes her advice and goes in search of work. He is so much a delinquent, however, that he can not adapt to a bourgeois life and goes back to stealing. Accatone is losing control over his day-to-day life. A tragedy looms ahead.
