Sobre o filme
A historical document with two of the greatest contemporary talents in Portuguese cinema and literature, Manoel de Oliveira and Agustina Bessa-Luís. An "active" dialog in which two friends, accomplices and work mates, with similar tastes and feelings, tell of experiences lived, speak of ambiguous feelings and feminine subjectivity, comment on the news, analyze the power of the image and the difference between documentary and fiction, and share memories and reminiscences. A master filmmaker, Manoel de Oliveira is the longest-lived director in activity, in the world - born in Porto on December 12, 1908. He began his career with a silent film, Douro, Faina Fluvial (1931), part of the selection for the 15th Mostra. In full activity, Manoel made Belle Toujours, in 2006, also included in the selection for the 30th Mostra. Agustina Bessa-Luís was born in Vila Meã, Amarante, in 1922, a descendant on her father?s side of a family of rural background between the Douro and the Minho and, on her mother?s side, from a Spanish family from Zamora. She started her career as a novelist in 1948 and published a novel, Mundo Fechado. She has, to date, published some 50 books. In 2004, at the age of 81, she was awarded the Camões Prize, the most important award in Portuguese literature.
