Film critic Paulo Estrela is at the airport waiting for Celeste, his great passion in life. While he is waiting, he strikes up a conversation with Salete, a receptionist, and tells how they both met and began to date - between film festivals and courses on scriptwriting. During the conversation, flashbacks show backstage cinema with the relationship between both. Celeste is a film maker who is awarded prizes for a short film and is beginning to work on her first feature. She realizes the difficulties she must face to make the film. Estrela is in love and follows along with her on the long road ahead.
