In 1939, a reporter from New York finds out a connection between the strange disappearances of the world’ most famous scientists and the city invasion by giant robots, who throw cars around and destroy buildings. Determined to solve the mystery, she asks for the help of an ex-boyfriend, the captain of a mercenary pilot’ legion. They are both investigating the case when the robots invade New York again. Luckily, the captain’ best soldier finds out important clues. The group decides to travel around the world in search of Dr Totenkopf, who plans to create the “world of tomorrow”, as soon as he destroys the “world of today”. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was entirely shot against a blue screen, having the scenarios inserted later with computer generated images.
