Purple Wooden Canoe (2008)
Sobre o filme
In a settlement on the banks of the Munin river in Maranhão, Brazil, the skilful hands of a craftsman transform the trunk of a tree into a rustic canoe that will mean transportation and sustenance for his family, in a ritual repeated over the course of several generations that questions the frontiers between culture and popular, modern and traditional. Is this art or simply handcraft?
