Twenty Years Later (1984)
Sobre o filme
With a semidocumentary narrative, the film investigates the life of João Pedro Teixeira, Brazilian peasant leader killed in 1962. The production of the film was interrupted in 1964 due to the military coup d’état. Seventeen years later, the filmmaker collected the testimonials of the peasants that worked in the previous shooting. Part of the history of the Galileia and Sapé Peasant Leagues and the life of João Pedro arise through the words of his widow, Elizabeth Teixeira, which talks about her life history and the difficulties of her family, persecuted during the military dictatorship.
