Bangkok Bahrain (1984)
Sobre o filme
The film follows the drama of Thai immigrants, who leave their families behind in search of work in Arab countries, such as Bahrain. Meanwhile, at home in Thailand it is estimated that half a million women resort to prostitution in their struggle to curb poverty. As well as telling these immigrants’ stories, Gitai builds some striking scenes to compose the stark contrasts of this wealthy Gulf emirate and shows a prince giving a tour of his massive luxurious mansion and an interview with a film censor.
