Makunáima remained silent because Indigenous relatives had been taken away from their cultures and languages. One day, he went for a walk in Wararaa’Pay and noticed something different. He transformed into an animal and reencountered ancestral narratives lived in the daily lives of children, who, through music, dance, and play, reveal a mysterious and enchanting present, full of richness and creativity, and transform a past of misunderstanding into resistance.
