“To Vigo I Go!” is a documentary that delves into the work of Carlos Diegues, a filmmaker who has portrayed the history and spirit of Brazil since 1961. The feature navigates between his films and his personal journey. Excerpts from his works are interspersed with interviews given by the director over the course of 60 years. We witness the evolution of his cinema and his discourse, interwoven with previously unseen footage from Diegues’s last shoot of “Deus Ainda é Brasileiro”, a screening of “Bye Bye Brazil” in the Vidigal favela with his presence, and a major reunion between Carlos Diegues and artists who shared his journey.
Presented at the Cannes Film Festival.
