De 22 de outubro a 4 de novembro, aconteceu em São Paulo a tradicional Mostra Internacional de Cinema. Durante duas semanas, foram exibidos 312 títulos de 62 países em 22 endereços, entre cinemas, espaços culturais e museus espalhados pela capital paulista, incluindo exibições gratuitas e ao ar livre.
Meu Amigo Hindu, de Hector Babenco, abriu o evento no Auditório Ibirapuera. Um Dia Perfeito, obra dirigida por Fernando León de Aranoa, encerrou o festival no CineSesc.
Born in 1944. British actress and eldest daughter of Charles Chaplin and Oona O’Neill, she was eight years old when her family moved from the United States to Switzerland. She was first seen on the screen when her father included her in the film Limelight (1952). Her first credited role was in Crime on a Summer Morning (1965), by Jacques Deray, and she was boosted to fame in 1965 with Doctor Zhivago (1965), by David Lean. Chaplin developed an important collaboration with Spanish director Carlos Saura. She has acted in more than 140 films and TV productions. In 2014, she received the Humanity Award at the 38th Mostra.
Born in Barcelona in 1949. His company, Eddie Saeta, has produced and co-produced the work of directors such as Lisandro Alonso, Naomi Kawase, José Luis Guerín, Albert Serra, Marc Recha and Javier Rebollo, as well as The Strange Case of Angelica (2010), directed by Manoel de Oliveira, which was the opening film of the 34th Mostra; Finisterrae (2010), directed by Sergio Caballero, winner of the Tiger Award at Rotterdam; and Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010, 34th Mostra), directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul and awarded with the Golden Palm in Cannes. He also directed two documentaries, Familystrip and Blow Horn, both in 2009, and the feature film Falling Star (2014, 38th Mostra). He was a jury member at the Locarno, San Sebastián, Karlovy Vary festivals, among others.
Born in France in 1978. He began working in 1997 at MK2, a French company that handles the production, distribution, sales and exhibition of independent films, created by Marin Karmitz, his father. He became managing director of the MK2 Group in 2005. Distributed over 60 films, including Elephant (2003, 27th Mostra), by Gus van Sant, and Fish Tank (2009, 33rd Mostra), by Andrea Arnold. Produced films such as Summers Hours (2008, 32nd Mostra), by Olivier Assayas, Certified Copy (2010, 34th Mostra), by Abbas Kiarostami, Black Venus (2010, 34th Mostra), by Abdellatif Kechiche, On the Road (2012), by Walter Salles, and Lawrence Anyways (2012, 36th Mostra), by Xavier Dolan. He also directed the short movie l’Homme Télé, in 1992. A selection of MK2’s works was shown in a retrospective at the 38th Mostra, in 2014.
Born in São Paulo in 1967. Director, screenwriter and producer, he studied screenplay at the Bilger Filmlab of the Visual Arts University of Amsterdam. Started his career in 1989 as an assistant director. He wrote, directed and produced the short A Soccer Story (1999), nominated for the Oscars in 2001. Directed the documentary The Synthesis of a Race (2009, 33rd Mostra), as well as the features Stillborn (2009, 33rd Mostra), based on the homonymous book written by Lourenço Mutarelli, and Trinta (2014, 38th Mostra). On television, he directed episodes of the French series Petit Myths Urbains (2003) and the Brazilian show PSI (2014), written by Contardo Calligaris. He is currently working on the film adaptation of Cristovão Tezza’s book Filho Eterno.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1971. Music composer for film and television, Wyszogrod is a member of the Academy of Cinematography Arts and Sciences of Argentina. Son of a classical violinist, he began studying piano when he was six years old. In 1993 he composed his first score - for the feature film El Mono Gatica, by Leonardo Favio. He also created the score of films like A Sweet Scent of Death (1999), by Gabriel Retes; Chronicle of an Escape (2006), by Adrián Caetano; The Past (2007, opening film of the 31st Mostra), by Hector Babenco; Roa (2013, 37th Mostra), by Andrés Baiz; and Papers in the Wind (2015), by Juan Taratuto, on exhibition at the 39th Mostra.
